Frances Louise Darnell

Darnell, Frances Louise 73, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 9, 2012 in Socorro, NM. She was born in Tucumcari, NM on October 9, 1938, to Edward V. and Gladys Z. (Wagner) Birchfield. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Ervan Birchfield. Louise is survived by her devoted sons, Jimmy Darnell and Floyd Darnell both of Socorro; her loving daughter, Tina Smith and her husband, David J. of Los Lunas, NM; her loving brother,Vernon Birchfield and his wife, Rusty; her grandchildren, Amber and Michael Reno, Bridgette, Mathew, Natasha, Edward, Buster and Alex Darnell; and numerous great grandchildren. Louise was a resident of Socorro since 1985. She managed many motels in New Mexico, Texas and Arizona including the Super 8 and the Best Western Golden Manor, both in Socorro. She retired last year after 46 years of managing. She was an avid bird watcher and liked to paint with oils. She loved animals and was especially fond of horses. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, June 18, 2012 at 1:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Socorro with Pastor Bob Farmer officiating.
