Frances DeLorenzo

DeLorenzo, Frances Passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at the age of 87. She was one of four children and was born in Tuxedo, NY. Her parents were Angelo and Maria Genito, originally from Benevento, Italy. Frances had fond memories of her childhood, despite growing up during the Great Depression. She graduated from Tuxedo High in 1944, and her family moved to nearby Suffern, NY, soon afterward. She helped the war effort by working at Wright�s defense plant in Patterson, NJ. She later worked as a secretary for Lederle Laboratories in Pearl River, NY. In 1950, she married Frank DeLorenzo, a carpenter from Piermont, NY; they settled in Nauraushaun, then later, in Nanuet, NY. They had four children. Frances loved her family and was happiest having everyone around her and cooking for everybody. She loved to laugh and talk and had a positive outlook on life. In 1976, Frank retired, and he and Frances and the family moved to Rio Rancho, NM. They enjoyed their retirement years traveling around, spending time at home with family and friends, and taking an occasional trip to the casino. And of course, Frances spent a lot of time cooking and baking lots of Italian dishes. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank, just a mere six months ago. She is survived by her dear, older sister, Rose Abrucci, of Fort Montgomery, NY; children, Frank DeLorenzo Jr. of Santee, CA, Joseph DeLorenzo and wife, Louise, John DeLorenzo and wife, Cindy, Rosemarie DeLeo and husband, Thomas, all of Rio Rancho, NM; ten grandchildren; a brand new great-grandson; numerous nieces and nephews. She is much loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be held from 3:30 pm ~ 5:00 pm, with the recitation of the Rosary at 4:00 pm, Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Sara Road Chapel, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am, Monday, March 18, 2013 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM. Interment to follow at Vista Verde Memorial Park, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM.
