Francis L. Frank, 69 of Kayenta, AZ, passed away on January 26, 2011 in Farmington, NM. He was born on March 14, 1941 to Jim Frank and Isabelle F. Pete in Adobe, NM. He was born of the Red running into water clan and born for the Near the Water clan. Francis was employed with Peabody Coal Mine for 40 years as drag line operator #2570. He was very dedicated to his job and enjoyed every moment that he spent working there. He was also worked for Navajo Mine for 9 1/2 years. Francis enjoyed annual hunting and fishing trips with his cousins and brothers. Francis loved his grandchildren and enjoyed taking them on trips. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. Francis was preceded in death by his son, Francis Frank, Jr.; his father Jim Frank and step-father Burke Pete; and his brothers Wilson Frank and Bruce Frank. He is survived by his wife, Maymie Frank; sons Leon Frank, Sterling Frank, Johnathan Frank, Lester Frank, Christopher Frank and Michael Yazzie Frank; daughters, Lillian Rock, Leticia “Lita” Lee, Debra Yazzie, Jamie Y. Yazzie and Alexandra Yazzie Frank; mother, Isabelle F. Pete; brother, Ervin Frank; sisters, Jeanette “Jan” Harvey and Virginia Daniels; grandparents, Nellie and Dick Peters (maternal), Roy and Evelyn Platero (paternal); 24 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be on January 31, 2011 at 10:00 am at Jesus Saves Church, 2.5 miles S.W. on N371 past Murray Dr. Turn onto Rd 6001 past tanks on the right. Signs will be posted. Allen G. Parrish will be officiating. The interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Farmington. Pallbearers are Jimmie Burns, William Lee, Keyonnie Tsosie, Michael Y. Frank, Frank Peter, Jonathan Frank, Clarence Peter and Christopher Frank.
