FREELY- Francis James Freely, 89, a resident of Rio Rancho, NM since 1968, was called home to our Lord and Savior on May 4, 2011. He was born on December 14, 1921 to Martin and Anna (Doris) Freely of New York City, NY. He served our country in the United States Navy and is a World War II veteran. He served as an Electrician’s Mate on the USS South Dakota. He retired from General Electric as an electrician. Mr. Freely and his family were one of the first families to join St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret “Peggy” Freely; his son, Lawrence Freely; brother, Thomas Freely and a sister, Ann Tyler. He is survived by his daughter, Lorraine Freely Kirk and her husband, John Kirk, of Seaside, CA; grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Freely Kirk and John Lawrence Freely Kirk; nieces and nephews: Margaret, Loretta, Bobby, Maureen, Ann and Michael. The Rosary will be recited at 12:30 p.m. with the Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 9 at St.Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho. Inurnment with Navy Honors will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 11, at Vista Verde Memorial Park, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho.
