Age 83, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2017 in Albuquerque, NM. He was born in Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico on March 3, 1934, to Baldomero and Manuela Contreras. Francisco was a resident of Socorro for over 50 years. He was a farmer and a hard working man who was always willing to help anyone in need. He enjoyed being outdoors and working in the garden. Francisco loved to fish, hunt and take his family camping. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents. Francisco is survived by wife of 52 years, Josefina (Renteria) Contreras; his sons, Oscar Contreras, Raul (Patricia) Contreras, Francisco (Lucero) Contreras, Jr., Rick Contreras, and Gabriel Contreras; daughters, Grace (Matthew) Brannan, Diana (Peter) Gonzales, and Mary Contreras; grandchildren, Oscar Jr., Andrew, Michael, Katrina, Ashley, Kimberly, Dana, Rick Jr., Jordan, Raul Jr., Francisco, Samantha, and Nadia Contreras, Charles, William, John, Christopher, Steven, Joshua, and Cory Brannan, Peter Jr., Jakob, and Jaylin Gonzales, great-grandchildren, Catalina Contreras, Kiara, Anthony, Rick III, and Lilly Contreras, Charles Brannan, Jr., and Amarissa Brannan. Visitation will take place at Daniels Family Funeral Services Chapel from 3:00 pm -6:00 pm Friday July 21st 2017. Rosary to be recited on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 9:30 am at San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real, Socorro with Mass of Resurrection to be celebrated immediately following at 10:00 am. Celebrant is Father John Anasuidu. Burial will take place at a later date. Pallbearers will be Charles Contreras, Peter Gonzales, Raul Contreras Jr., Andrew Contreras, Rick Contreras Jr., William Brannan. Honorary pallbearers are Oscar Contreras Jr., Michael Contreras, John Brannan, Christopher Brannan, Francisco Contreras, Jakob Gonzales, Steven Brannan.
