Frank John DeLorenzo

DeLorenzo, Frank John Age 91, was born in Nyack, NY, on October 20, 1920, and passed away peacefully on September 23, 2012. He was one of twelve children of John and Mary DeLorenzo. He was raised in Piermont, NY, during the Depression. At the age of 17, he went to work in the Civilian Conservation Corps in Cornwall, NY. Frank served in the U.S. Navy during WWII from June, 1942 until January, 1946. In 1950, he married Frances Genito of Suffern, NY. They had four children. Frank was a carpenter by trade and retired from his position as vocation instructor at Rockland State Hospital in Orangeburg, NY, in 1976. In September, 1976, he moved his family to Rio Rancho, NM. For many years Frank enjoyed playing golf and bowled until he was in his 80's. He was a regular at the Ten Pins Bowling Alley and could be spotted there smoking his pipe. Frank is survived by his devoted and loving wife, of 62 years, Frances DeLorenzo; children, Frank DeLorenzo, Jr. of Santee, CA, Joseph DeLorenzo and wife Louise, John DeLorenzo and wife Cindy, Rosemarie DeLeo and husband Thomas, all of Rio Rancho, NM; brothers, Ralph DeLorenzo and Philip DeLorenzo; sisters, Anne Melia and Grace Castellane; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild is on the way; numerous nieces and nephews. He was a kind and caring individual, was much loved and will be greatly missed by all. A Visitation will be held from 6:30 pm ~ 8:00 pm with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Sara Road Chapel, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am, Thursday, September 27, 2012 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM.
