Frank A Vigil

Vigil , Frank A 75, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 11, 2013. He was born in Holman, NM on February 18, 1938 to Flavio P. and Charolette (Gallegos) Vigil. Frank was a Socorro resident since 1982. He proudly served with the United States Marines from 1956 until 1959. He then became an officer with the New Mexico State police in 1969, which he retired from after 22 years of devoted service in 1991. Frank was a very loving person. He always had a joke to tell and you never seen him without a smile on his face. He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Frank enjoyed the occasional fishing, camping, and even hunting trips. Frank is survived by the love of his life, Laura Jo Flores and her son, Ricardo Flores; his son, Frank Vigil Jr.; his daughter, Ursula Vigil; his grandchildren, Celeste Childers and Zachary Vigil; his great grandson, Sean Childers; his brothers, Benjamin R. Vigil and his wife, Josephine; and Charles E. Vigil and his wife, Ursulita; and many other loving family members and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Doroteo Vigil; Flavio "Virgil" Vigil; and Robert P. Vigil; an infant baby sister; and also his late wife and mother of his children, June Vigil. As were Frank's wishes cremation has taken place. Interment will be held in the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Friday, July 26, 2013 at 10:30 am.
