Fred Edward Black went home to be with the Lord on February 20th, 2024. Edward was born on September 15th, 1943 and was proceeded in death by his parents Fred and Hermenia Black.
Edward was married 62 years to his high school sweetheart Angie Vigil Black. Together they built a legacy in life, including their five children, Yolanda Black-Chavez (husband, Gary Chavez) Darlene Black (wife, Lucia Castillo) Edward Black Jr., Wayne Black and Denise Black, three Grandchildren, Amanda Clark (husband, Chad), Jason Black (wife, Karla), and Aaron Black. He also had four great-grandchildren Jordan, Kamila, Hailey and Emma. Edward left behind his sister Janice Chavez (husband, Leonardo).
Most people knew Edward as uncle Eddie, Ed, brother Mr. Black or a good friend but his children and grandchildren simply knew him as Dad, Daddy, Pops and Tata. He called everyone he met hito or hita.
Angie was Edward’s best friend and the love of his life. They spent time together dancing, listening to their favorite singers and having lunch with high school friends. Edward loved his dogs and horses. His favorite pass time was horse racing, he could be found at the downs betting and studying the statistics.
Pallbearer’s will be Eddie Black Jr., Wayne Black, Amanda Clark, Jason Black, Aaron Black, and Gary Chavez.
Honorary pallbearers are Jordan Black, Chad Clark, and Karla Black.
