Fred Chavez

Chavez, Fred "Cowboy" Beloved husband, father, Tata and Grand-Tata. Age 88, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2012. He was born in Cubero, NM on October 17, 1924, to Isidro and Isabel (Montano) Chavez; He was preceded in death by his son Richard Chavez; his parents; sister Daisy Ortiz and his brothers Leopoldo and Fernandez Chavez. Fred is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Stella Chavez; children Josie Chavez, Judy Garcia and husband John, David Chavez and wife Lori, Leonard Chavez and wife Dinah, Tommy Chavez and wife Millie, Gloria Chavez, Loretta Lopez and husband Ferman and Fred Chavez Jr.; Grandchildren; Richard, Angel, Albert, Annette, Thomas, Fabian, Melissa, Richie, Fred III, Nicholas, Nathan, Jessica, Danielle, Darla, Tomi, Lucas.; 14 great grandchildren; siblings Perciliano Chavez, Mellie Rael, Kate Saavedra, Dora Marez and numerous relatives and friends. He served our country in World War II with the 1st Cavalry Division, he also retired from the City Of Albuquerque where he worked Street Maintenance and retired after 28 years. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. Pall-bearer's will be; Richard, John, Nathan, Richie, Fred III, Fabian. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at 6:00pm at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal Rd. SW, with the rosary to be recited at 7:00pm. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 27th, 2012 at 9:00am at St Anne's Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal Rd. SW, with Interment to follow at San Jose De Armijo.
