Fred W. Rothery

ROTHERY, FRED W. Age 85, completed his journey back to God on Saturday, December 1, 2012 with family by his side. He was born on December 11, 1926. Fred enjoyed his work and those he worked with for over 30 years at Standard Oil/Amoco in Nebraska and during "retirement" with H.R. Block in Albuquerque. He enjoyed road trips with family through out the west but had a special love for the Black Hills. He firmly believed that there was "No place like Nebraska". A gracious man, Fred knew the worth of quiet support and a kind word. What he valued most was his family. Our joys are greater, our love is deeper, our lives are fuller, because we shared all with Fred. Our hearts are broken but we know God always takes his children home. Fred leaves precious memories in the hearts of his wife of nearly 65 years, Bonnie Rothery (Fields); his children, Douglas Rothery, and wife Nancy Rothery of Phoenix, AZ, Pamela Rothery of Rio Rancho, NM; grandchildren, Stephanie Rothery Cross and husband Ryan Cross of Phoenix, AZ, Shaun Rothery, Spencer Rothery of Austin, TX; great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Colton Cross of Phoenix, AZ; and dear friends in Nebraska and New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Anna Rothery; brother, Robert Rothery; sister, Alice Rothery; and granddaughter Randi Rothery. The Family wishes to thank friends who gave them their love and support over the past year. A grateful thank you to the doctors and nurses who helped Fred rally many times and to Presbyterian Hospice for their care. A family gathering will be held at a later date.
