Saddler, Fred Leondis
Age 85, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2015. He was born in Columbus, GA on April 9, 1930, to William Saddler and Lillian (Collier) Saddler. He was retired from North Shore Gas in Waukegan, Illinois after 23 years. He also retired from the U.S. Fifth Army as a Sergeant First Class after 20 years of service. His last duty station was Fort Sheridan, Illinois. He was also a member of the American Legion in Lake Forest, Illinois and a member of the Disabled American Veterans Group "National Order of the Trench Rats Dugout 555.” He was also trustee and member of the First Baptist Church in Lake Forest, Illinois. Fred was a commander of the Rio Rancho Veterans Coffee Group with over 400 members. His grandfather, Fred Riley, was one of the first African American detectives in Chicago, Illinois which inspired Fred to join the U.S Army’s Military Police and Combat Engineering Group. Fred is survived by his wife, Dorothy and a host of children; Christopher, Gregory, Michelle, Michael (deceased), Shawn, Donna, Clyde (deceased), Delbert, Henry, Artice and many grandchildren.
