Gael McDonough

Gael McDonough, at the age of 57, passed away in her home in Albuquerque, NM on May 10th, 2018.

Gael blessed her parents, Henry J. and Eunice McLaughlin in Woburn, Massachusetts on July 29, 1960. It was there that she would go on to graduate from Woburn Senior High School class of 1978.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, as well as her brother; Henry John McLaughlin Jr.

The larger than life, beautiful inside and outside Gael is survived by sisters; Jean F. Belt of Denver, CO, Susan McLaughlin of Albuquerque, NM, Patricia and Fred Dyer of Woburn, MA, brother; Michael and Josephine McLaughlin, her significant other for 19 years; Kenneth R. Vasquez of Albuquerque, NM, Robert McDonough and daughter; Keri L. McDonough, MANY nieces and nephews and last but not least her only grandchild; Jordan Robert McDonough. All of whom miss her very dearly.

Gael was an avid bowler, enjoyed playing in a league and bartending throughout her hometown of Woburn, Massachusetts. She also loved spending time near the ocean in Gloucester, Massachusetts.

Most people remember her as “the Mama”, as she would always refer to family and friends as “mama” or “papa”. She was a social butterfly and considered many friends as family. She loved deeply and genuinely and always tried to help anyone in need.

Those who knew and loved her would describe her as not only funny, clever and witty, but compassionate. Gael had a contagious spirit that people were drawn to.

She spent the last 10 years in Albuquerque, NM with her love, Kenny and sister Susan. At the center of her world was her daughter, Keri and grandson, Jordan – whom she doted on and was so proud of. Sadly, Gael never made her much anticipated and upcoming trip to her hometown in Massachusetts because she was taken from us much too soon. She will NEVER be forgotten, ALWAYS be loved and adored.
