Gary Lee Foster

Gary Lee Foster 64, a resident of Bernalillo NM, passed away Saturday evening July 14, 2012 at Presbyterian hospital in Albuquerque, NM. He was born February 14, 1948 in Ft. Dodge IA to Raymond L. Foster and Pauline V. (Croxell) Knight. Gary served in the Army active and reserve from 1968 thru 1974. He then married Marietta Knight in 1970 and began their family in Gowrie IA. Gary enjoyed his job building and supervising the construction of hydraulic grain elevators. In the summer of 1986 the family moved to Albuquerque NM. Gary then used his experience out at Ponderosa Products. Gary retired in 1999 and just worked odd jobs to keep himself busy. During his retirement he spent his time with is grand kids, visiting family in Texas, and California, and working on his model trains. Gary will always be remembered as great father, grandfather, son, and brother. He was a caring person who we will always remember with love and missed by his family and friends. Gary is survived by his mother, Pauline Knight; son, Chad Foster and wife Melissa of McKinney, TX; his daughter Wendy Foster of Rio Rancho, NM; his 4 grandchildren, Justin Greer of McKinney, TX, Briana Mullen of Tacoma WA, Bisbee and Abigale Mullen of Rio Rancho, NM; 2 sisters, Sharon Leeper and husband Larry, Paula Karney and husband Norman; 4 brothers, Larry Foster and his wife Kathy, Sam Foster, Raymond Foster and his wife Josie, and Tracy Foster; Stepmother Brenda Foster; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family would also like to express a special thanks to Patricia Cervantes and her family for being a wonderful care giver and friend to Gary during his illness.
