Gary Griego

Gary Griego (Gu), age 57, passed away at his home in Albuquerque on Wednesday December 25, 2019. He was born on May 4, 1962 in Springer, New Mexico. Gary was born to Lencho and Placida Griego. He was a graduate of Springer High School and he attended NMSU in Las Cruces, NM.

Gary worked as Receiving Clerk and Facilities Assistant at X-ray Associates of New Mexico.  Gary was an avid Chicago Cubs, Washington Redskin, Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Blackhawks fan.  Gary spent his time playing golf, betting on the ponies at the track and socializing with all of his friends and family. Gary was loved by everyone and had the uncanny ability to make everyone laugh.

He is survived by his fiancé Angela Marquez, his stepson Shawn Romero, his mother Placida Griego (P), his uncle Carlos (Esther) Arguello and numerous friends.   

A memorial service will be held on Saturday January 4, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Daniel’s Funeral Home located at 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM. 

A Rosary will be at 11:00 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial Monday, January 6th @ 11:00 a.m., St. Joseph Catholic Church, 605 5th St., Springer, NM 87747. Burial will be at Springer Cemetery with a meal following at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Hall.
