Valdez, Gavina Age 91, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2013. She was born in Cuba, NM on February 17, 1922 to Samuel and Josefa Gurule (Aragon). She was preceded in death by her son, Richard Valdez. Gavina is survived by her children, Tony Valdez, Joann Sanchez and husband Ernesto, Virginia Trujillo; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brother, Joe Gurule and wife Beulah; "special" granddaughter, Rhonda Jacquez. A Visitation will be held from 7:00 pm to 7:30 pm with the recitation of the Rosary at 7:30 pm, Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Parish, 6440 Main Street, Cuba, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, Friday, August 9, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Parish. Interment to follow at Cuba Catholic Cemetery, Cuba, NM.
