Gay Anne Dassie

Gay Anne Dassie died suddenly on February 23rd, 2022 in Rio Rancho, New Mexico at the age of 71.

She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Louis F. Dassie Jr.; three children, Louis (Skip) F. Dassie III, Ronald P. Dassie, and Shannon M. (Mike) Copeland; grandchildren, Tyler Lane, Carsten, Brianna, Meghan, Ashley, and Cheyenne;  best friends, Char and Mary Jo; many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends in Midlothian, as well as in New Mexico where the family has lived since 1978. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gale and Marcella Maxwell; and her two brothers, Donald and Ronald Maxwell.

Gay was born on May 9, 1950 in Joliet, IL to Gale and Marcella Maxwell. She was raised in her family home in Midlothian. She attended Bremmen High School in Midlothian, IL.

Gay was a very loving person who absolutely adored almost every animal she came across. She loved her Pepsi, Yahtzee, daises, diamonds, and was a huge baseball fan (Go Cubs and Dodgers, Chris Taylor!). The world will be a little duller without her bright smile and giving heart… We are ALL going to miss you!

A viewing will take place on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 pm at Daniels Sara Chapel, 4310 Sara Rd. Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
