George Patrick Salome, Sr Our beloved George left this world to meet our Lord on March 20, 2014. George was born on March 17, 1941 in Socorro, New Mexico. His parents, Leo and Evelyn Salome; and the mother of his two sons, Mable (Silva) Salome, precede him in death. He is survived by his loving wife, Helen Salome; his two sons, George Patrick Salome, Jr. and wife Melissa; Anton Salome and wife Moniqua; two grandchildren, Mia and Rylee; two sisters, Jeanette and husband Sam Atencio Jr; Joann and husband Nick Sais and their daughter Jonique Sais; and his brothers-in-law, Polo Herrera; Mike Herrera; and Billy Silva. He is also survived by his best friend and constant companion, Oscar Palomino. George loved and cherished his family and friends above all and lived his life to the fullest, even during a prolonged illness, accepting his challenges with bravery and courage. George will be remembered as a kind and generous man with a quick wit and always telling stories and bringing humor to every conversation. George will be missed, but will remain forever in our hearts. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 24, 2014 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Health Catholic Church, 1178 N. Mesquite Street, Las Cruces, NM 88001. A visitation will then be held later on Monday evening from 5:00pm � 7:00pm at the Daniels Family Funeral Services � Socorro Chapel. The Holy Rosary will be recited Tuesday morning at 10:00am with Deacon Mike Ybarra at the San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real, Socorro, NM 87801, followed by a Rite of Committal in the San Miguel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Sam Atencio, Nick Sais, Polo Herrera, Michael Herrera, James D�Agostino, Ricky Herrera, Oscar Palomino, and Leroy Baca.
