TAACK- George Taack-Interior Designer and Albuquerque Business Owner
George Taack, 62, interior designer and business owner, died January 19, 2011 at Presbyterian Hospital. He was born October 14, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan. George received a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University in 1970 and a master’s from the University of New Mexico in 1972. His career as interior designer and co-owner/owner of design firms spanned from the late 70s to the present time. His current firm, DESIGN, is located in the Osuna Business Park. George spent a full life filled with numerous artistic pursuits: He wrote poetry and screenplays (winning several awards), was an outstanding photographer, and a successful designer of residential and commercial properties. George is survived by his partner, Ken Sherwood; siblings, Patricia Duvall of Albuquerque, Judith Lanier of Beaver Island, MI, and a twin brother Michael of Brant, MI; three nieces and a great nephew. A memorial celebration of his life is being planned for sometime in mid-February. Donations in memory of George may be made to Equality New Mexico, Vietnam Veterans of America, Roadrunner Food Bank.
