Morris, Georgia Beidler (LCPR, USN, RCI)

Died October 6, 2015 after a long illness. She was born November 13, 1920 in Fort Worth, TX to Jerry D. and Elizabeth Tatum Beidler. Upon Graduating from high school in Trinidad, TX, she entered the nurses training program at Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth. She completed her training just prior to the outbreak of WWII. Joining the Navy in 19 years, she served at various Naval hospitals in the Unites States before being sent to the South Pacific. By the end of the war, she was assigned to the Naval air station near Corpus Christi, TX.  She ended her Naval career at the Naval hospital in Newport, RI where she met and married her husband John A. Morris. She also began a new career as a supervising nurse for the State of Rhode Island Department of Health, a position she held until her retirement in 1982. Following the death of her husband, she moved to Albuquerque to be near her brother Jacob H. Beidler who preceeded her in death in 2014.  She was also preceeded in death by her parents, two sisters and another brother. She is survived by special friend, Tom McMullen of Albuquerque. Special thanks to Princeton Place for her care over the past 13 years and to On Point Hospice for making her last months easier. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Daniels Family Funeral Service-Wyoming Chapel, 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Graveside service will be held at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM.
