Georgiana Otero, age 93, passed away March 22, 2018. Born in Chicago, Illinois but raised in Albuquerque, NM, she was a loyal Albuquerque High Bulldog who graduated in 1943 to go on to Nursing school to become a nurse. In 1946 Georgiana began a loving marriage of 52 years with Meliton Otero, who preceded her in death.
Georgiana was also preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ella Chval, along with sister, Edna Tartaglia.
She is survived by daughter, Kathy Otero, sons; Meliton Otero (wife Beckie), Michael Otero (wife Debbie), Patrick Otero (wife DeDe), Tony Otero (Wife Sue), David Otero (wife Margie) and Ted Otero (wife Jennifer). She is also survived by her niece, Loretta Dow.
Georgiana enjoyed 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She co-owned Dairy Queen, #6 for 35 years. She also taught Catechism at Our Lady of Guadalupe for 12 years and also worked as a docent at The Museum of Natural History. She was an active alumni member of Albuquerque High School and was very active in politics. The campaigns most notable include the YES FOR 2, Gene Lusk for Govenor and Joe Skeen for Congress.
The Otero family would like to thank all her neighbors who took care of her, especially Anthony and Margie Delgado and the entire Delgado family, Connie Harrington and Nancy Bell.
