Geraldine D. Boutz

BOUTZ -- Geraldine Boutz, 99, passed away on Saturday, October 5th, 2013 surrounded by family. Jerry was born on July 26th, 1914 in Comanche, Texas to Cara Leslie Egbert Davis and Marion Harrison Davis. She met her future husband, Ray, while attending college in San Antonio. Upon Ray�s graduation from Army Air Corps flight school in 1934 they married and began a life-long adventure traveling the world and making close friends in the Air Corps and Air Force through numerous duty stations including Hawaii, Texas, Ohio, New York, Greenland, Alabama and Japan interrupted during the war years when Ray commanded a B-24 Bomb Group in Italy. After retirement in Albuquerque, New Mexico Jerry and Ray enjoyed family, friends, traveling in their motorhome and fishing during the remainder of their life together. In later years, Jerry was fond of reminiscing of her �two year honeymoon� in Hawaii, 68 years of marriage and of her wonderful life. Jerry was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; son, John Frederick; grandson Brian; and mother, Leslie, and stepfather, Fred Beatty. She is survived by sons, Gary and wife, Geri, of Reno, NV, Allen and wife, Betty, of Springfield, VA; grandchildren, Gary Jr. and wife, Jennifer, and Graham and wife, DiAnne, Kimmer Franz, and Lauren; and great-grandchildren Garrett, Grace, Daniel, and Thomas. Jerry was a loving wife, wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and faithful friend to many, and will be deeply missed. Jerry will be remembered always for her true Christian charity, her beautiful smile, and her kindness to all. A family service was held at Santa Fe National Cemetery on Thursday, October 10th.
