Germaine M. Walthers

WALTHERS- Germaine Marie Walthers, 88, a resident of Rio Rancho, NM passed away Friday, April 15, 2011. She is survived by her eight children, William Walthers, III and wife Diana of Las Vegas, NV, Michael Walthers and wife Claudia of Las Vegas, NV, Annette Miller and husband David of Rio Rancho, NM, David Walthers and wife Lisa of Albuquerque, NM, Karl Walthers and wife Terrie of Texico, NM, Amy O’Brien and husband Scott of Clarkston, WA, Paul Walthers and wife Josie of Los Lunas, NM, Lee Walthers von Alten of Shallotte, NC; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; one sister, Mary Ann Schingen; 3 brothers, Eugene Hohl, Delbert Hohl, Marvin Hohl. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, William K. Walthers von Alten, II; two sons, Patrick and Frederick Walthers, one sister, Catherine Hohl; one brother, David Hohl. Germaine was a member of the Elk’s Ladies, Lodge 2500, where she enjoyed playing “Oklahoma” with some friends; she also loved playing cards with her “crazy daisies” along with a night or two of bingo! She was a gentle, kind and giving person who always found the good in people. Positive, funny, and open minded. She was an amazingly strong and patient woman and love filled her heart. She was a great teacher and mentor to her children and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A Rosary will be recited at 10:00 am, followed with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am, Wednesday, April 20, 2011, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM. Inurnment will be held following the services at Vista Verde Memorial Park, 4310 Sara Road SE and Meadowlark Lane, Rio Rancho, NM.
