Sister Gertrude Johnson was born October 9, 1936 in Perry County, Mississippi. She was the oldest child of Edmond Monroe Sr and Essie Mae Monroe. After graduating from Depriest High school in Perry County Mississippi. She moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico she lived with her family Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lee Jennings Sr. Soon after sister Gertrude met her future husband Dan Johnson (Popcorn) Sr. Who also relocated from Fabian, Texas. Sis Gertrude was married to Dan Johnson for 54 yrs.Sis Gertrude departed this life on March 13, 2015 Sis Gertrude Johnson was proceeded in death by her husband Dan Johnson Sr, son Markus L Johnson., mother Essie Mae Monroe, father Edmond Monroe Sr. brother Bobby Monroe. She leaves to cherish her memory 3 daughters; Sharon Palmer, Cynthia Johnson, Pamela Johnson-Ray (Eddie), step son Dan Johnson Jr., 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
