Gilbert M. Chavez

Chavez, Gilbert M. Age 74, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past 12 years passed away April 5th, 2012. He was born October 28, 1937 in Magdalena, NM to Macedonio and Anita Chavez. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Dennis Chavez; parents, Macedonio and Anita Chavez; brother, Sam Chavez. Gilbert is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Angie Chavez; his children, son, Rick and wife Anna Chavez, of Belen NM, son, Leroy Chavez, of Grants, NM, son, Michael Chavez, of Fairbanks, AK; daughter, Gloria and husband David Chavez, of Grants, NM, son, Eddie Chavez, of Belen NM, son, Danny Chavez, of Rio Rancho NM; sister, Rose and husband Paul Madril, of Albuquerque NM; brother, Seferino and wife Elsie Chavez, of Albuquerque NM; sister, Lucy and husband Felix Marquez, of Las Vegas, NV; brother, Victor Chavez, of Magdalena NM; grandchildren, Karen Diaz, Desiree Chavez, Summer Chavez, and other grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He moved to Grants in 1961 to work at the Kerr McGee Uranium Mines where he worked for 27 years. He then worked and retired from Yellow Freight in 2000 as a mechanic. His greatest joy was spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and his red Dodge.
