Gilbert Montoya

Montoya, Gilbert "Monty"
Age 67, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2015. He was born in Estancia, NM to Fernandez and Lillie Montoya. He served in the Army from 3/19/1969 to 4/14/1971 and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. Upon his return to Albuquerque he joined the American Legion Post 13 and was an active member for 23 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved sister, Annabell Montoya. Monty is survived by his loving sister Elizabeth Montoya and her husband Glenn Rossman; his brothers, Robert Lopez, Leonard Montoya and his wife Yolanda; his children, Charles, Angie and Jennifer; his nephews, Nathaniel and Jude Lopez; and numerous other family members and friends. The family would like to extend their appreciation to his cousins, Betty and Barbara who spent countless hours caring for him, to Rebecca and Carol for their help and support and the caregivers from the Hospice of the Sandias. A Rosary will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 9:00am at Daniels Family Funeral Services Wyoming Chapel. A Mass will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 10:00am at Risen Savior Catholic Community 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE Albuquerque, NM 87109. A reception will follow at Daniels Family Funeral Services Wyoming Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be given in Gilbert's honor to Wounded Warriors support.woundedwarriorproject.org.
