Gilberts greatest accomplishment was having a 3rd grade education and became a carpenter by trade and moved his way up the ladder to a Carpenters International Representative for the union. He was a member of the union for 50+ years. Gilbert’s greatest time in life was taking us camping and fishing when we were children. Even as an adult he still enjoyed fishing. As a family we were so proud of his woodworking. He made an oxcart that was donated to the Presbyterian Hospice and is located at the New Mexico Museum of Wheels. He made custom furniture such as bars, gazeebos, and even smaller items such as bird houses. Thanks for the gifts you have given all of us. He was a great grandfather who enjoyed the time with all of his grandchildren. Dad, Daddy, Papa, or Grandpa, whatever you may have been called, just know that you have loved us all around the world, and we loved you from the moon and back. He always walked his family out to their cars after a visit and told them he loved them. He will be greatly missed and loved always.
