Gladys L. Mullins 84, passed away on August 1, 2017 in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. She was born in Kilgore, Texas on May 2, 1933 to Lonnie and Evie Denmon. Gladys married John Calvin Gulley in September of 1948, they remained married until his death in September of 1978. Her three children, John, Jerry and Janet were born during her first marriage. She remarried in December of 1980 to CL Powers, he passed away in July of 1989. During their marriage, CL accepted Christ as his savior and he became a hard worker for Christ, he would work on the church and help others families in need. Gladys remarried James (Jim) Mullins in 1990. He passed away in 1997. She loved all of her husbands, she called Jim her best friend and his death was very hard on her. She was preceded in death by her husbands, John Gulley, C.L. Powers, and James Mullins, her sister, Dorothy (Dot), brothers, Raymond, Marvin and Buck.
Mrs. Mullins is survived by daughter, Janet Hardt and husband Bill, two sons, Jerry Gulley and John Gulley and wife Charlotte, 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, stepchildren, step grandchildren, and step great grand stepchildren as well as sisters Jewel Moore, Georgie Oliver and her brothers, Fred and Royce Lee.
During her life time she was able to travel and live in different parts of the world, including Alaska and Brazil, but she eventually found her way to Artesia, New Mexico, where she lived the majority of her life.
Gladys' favorite activities were working on her yard, cooking and spending time with her friends from church. She was always available to help with meals for the families at church who had lost a loved one.
She was a faithful servant to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and if you knew her, you would know there is no doubt that He was waiting for her with open arms. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends, but we know we will see her again.
We would like to give special thanks and appreciation to all of those who so lovingly cared for Gladys at Casa de Paz and Compassus Hospice. Our words could never express our deep gratitude.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Southern Chapel, Daniels Family Funeral Services 2400 Southern Blvd SE Rio Rancho, NM from 1-3pm.
Funeral Services will bell held on Saturday August 5, 2017 at Radar Funeral Home in Kilgore Texas at 2 pm.
Gravesite services to follow at Kilgore Cemetery in Kilgore Texas.
A memorial service will be held August 10, 2017 at the Catalyst Church in Artesia, New Mexico at 2pm.
