Gloria Carmen Alderete

ALDERETE -- Gloria C. Alderete, age 68, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on January 5, 2011. She was born November 4, 1942 to the late Antonio and Louisa Montano. Gloria was a dedicated servant to the Church of the Ascension Catholic Parish and the Pajarito Community. In 2009 she received the St. Francis of Assisi Award from the Archdiocese of Santa Fe for her demonstration of compassion and hergenerous and consistent giving of time and talent to the Church of the Ascension. She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Richard Alderete Sr.; her siblings, Rutilio Montano, Virginia Chavez, Rachel Barela and Theresa Montano. She is survived by her brother, Eugene Montano of Highland Hills, CA; her nine children and their spouses, Richard Alderete Jr. (Carol), Robert Alderete (Linda), Juliana Sanchez (Joe), Ronald Alderete (Amy),Lisa Suazo (Ronnie), Mary Ellen Alderete, Raymond Alderete (Cynthia), Rudy Alderete, Radford Alderete (Candice); and her 29 grandchildren. She is also survived by a special niece and nephew Anna Barela and Roy Chavez (Bonnie). Viewing will be 5:00 - 7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 11th, 2011 at Church of the Ascension followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 12th, 2011 at Church of the Ascension(2150 Raymac Rd.
