Age 63, passed away Friday, May 19, 2017. She was born in Gallup, NM on December 22, 1953 to Lloyd and Marie Notah Betone. In 1981, after a brief 3 years in the San Francisco area, Gloria came to Socorro, NM and has been a resident here ever since. Gloria was a strong willed woman with a great sense of humor. She enjoyed watching western movies and loved to watch her birds and listen to oldies music. Her greatest love was her time with her grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents. Gloria is survived by her devoted children, Juan Jose Marquez, Victoria (Leroy) Marquez-Jaramillo and Jasmine Betone; grandchildren, J.J. Marquez III, Alyssa Marquez, Zabrina Marquez, Cody Marquez, Juan Patterson, Christopher Patterson, Nicholas Patterson and Esperanza Jaramillo; adopted parents, Les and Ruth Wheeler; and her common law husband, Richard Apodaca. Visitation will be held Friday, May 26, 2017, 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Daniels Family Funeral Services - Socorro Chapel , 309 Garfield St, Socorro.
