Goldie Mae Nevards (Pennington)

Nevards, (Pennington) Goldie Mae Age 87, a resident of Rio Rancho, NM for 21 years, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2012. She was born in Thida, AR on February 21, 1924, to Odie and Leona (Taylor) Pennington. She graduated from Newport High School in June 1942. Goldie is survived by husband, John Nevards; children, Larry Addington, Mary Canady and husband David; step-children, Linda Van Dyck, Mathew Nevards; six grandsons, Travis, Trevor, Troy, Cody, Taylor, Christian; six great-grandchildren, Emiliano, Breeze, Nina, Michael, Jacob, Lucia; step-grandchildren, Colby Van Dyck, Erin Van Dyck; brother, Wardell Pennington of Newport, AR; sister, Leland Hicks of St. Louis, MO. She was an active member of the Chamisa Hills Country Club and Golf Course, for 19 years, past president of the Women's Golf Association and a member of the Rio Rancho Rambling Elks RV Club. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, February 17, 2012 at the First Baptist Church, 3906 - 19th Avenue SE, Rio Rancho, NM.
