Grace W Williams

Grace W. Williams died July 4, 2011 at her home in Albuquerque, NM. She was the former Executive Director of the American Civil Liberties Union of New Mexico from 1975-1993. Grace was born in 1921 in Oklahoma. She moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1952 with her husband Charles and soon became an active member in various community and political organizations including the League of Woman Voters, the Democratic Party of New Mexico, the American Red Cross and the New Mexico Civil Liberties Union. In 1972 Grace went back to finish her education and received a bachelor degree of Arts in Urban Studies from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. Her many friends and relatives will always remember Grace for her strength, courage and optimism. A memorial service will be announced to friends and family.
