DOURTE-Granville Lavern Dourte passed away Saturday, September 20, 2008 where he was an electronic technician for thirty one years at Sandia National Laboratories, working on top secret Military Projects. He is survived by his wife Helen Margaret Dourte, married May 26, 1951, and children: Margaret Saunders and husband Leigh, Albuquerque, NM; Patricia Bruner and husband Will, Greenville, SC; Richard Dourte and wife Christine, Albuquerque, NM; and Kathleen Arvizu and husband Karl of Tucson, AZ. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, as well as Fredina Bucalo, who was a niece, but like a sister. He is preceded in death by his parents and Theresa Ann Dourte. Granville was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. After graduating from Santa Fe High School in 1939, he worked for the Santa Fe Railroad and was a veteran of WWII, who served in the South Pacific and achieved the rank of Master Sergeant in the Army Air Corps. He was also a home builder and carpenter in Albuquerque. He was the first in his family to complete a post high school education. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans. Pallbearers will be: Richard Dourte, Leigh Saunders, Karl Arvizu, Michael Tussey, James Heimann, and George Nemeth.
