Griselda "Chella" M Herrera

Herrera,Griselda "Chella" Mrs. Herrera age 75, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on August 1, 2013.She was born on April 28,1938 to Andres Lopez and Josefita (Sedillo) Lopez.She was a lifelong resident of Socorro, but spent the last three years in Albuquerque so her daughter could give her the care and assistance she needed.Chella was a member of San Miguel Parish and a devout catholic.She retired from the Bureau of Land Management in 2001 after 31 years of service. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Betty Vigil and Amelia Tafoya, two husbands, Serafine Padilla Jr. in 1964 and Albert (Sonny) Herrera in 2004, son Patrick Padilla and stepdaughter Jeanette Saavedra.She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth Lyon and husband Charles Lyon, stepdaughter Linda Baca and husband Larry, stepson Alvin (Pancho) Herrera and wife Irene, and stepson Randy Herrera and wife Kitty. Her sisters, Josie Cole and husband Melvin, Helen Lopez, and Gloria Ortega and husband Abel, brother Andres Lopez Jr. Her grandchildren Natasha Groves, and Heidi Evans, David Hulsey and Jacob Padilla and many more loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A holy rosary will be recited on Friday, August 9, 2013 at 8:30 am (Eulogy will be read at 8:15am) at the San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real, Socorro NM, followed by a Mass of Resurrection which will be celebrated at 9:00 am with Father Andrew Pavlak as Celebrant.Interment will be held in the San Miguel Catholic Cemetery.Pallbearers are Michael Herrera, Chris Baca, Lawrence Baca, David Hulsey, and Jacob Padilla.
