Dawson, Harmon S. 90, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2012 at his home in Magdalena, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Central Lake, MI on December 29, 1921, to Gordon George and Zella Mae (Wilson) Dawson. Harmon had been a resident of Magdalena, NM since 1976. He was a US Army Veteran earning a Victory Medal after serving his country during WWII. In 1953, Harmon moved his family to Flint, MI and worked for General Motors as a Millwright. After Retirement, Harmon enjoyed traveling back to Michigan during the summer to visit family and participate in antique tractor shows. Closer to home in NM, he liked fishing at Elephant Butte and Escondida lakes. He also enjoyed crafts including oil painting, lapidary, and leather works. He loved to cook Cajun food and was a self taught repair man of all things. Most of all Harmon loved and adored his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Joanie Dawson; his son, Dennis Dawson; and his brother-in-laws, Marvin Telgenhof; and Donald Brown. Harmon is survived by his loving daughters, Judith Dawson; and Sylvia Troy and husband, Steve; his devoted son, Jeff Dawson and wife, Paula; his sisters, Carolyn Brown; and Laurene Kooyer and husband, Ronald; nine loving grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place and a small family graveside service will be held in Michigan at a later date. Harmon's care has been entrusted to:
