Harold Chee

Chee died March 1, 2011, in Albuquerque. He was born Feb. 1, 1938, in Sheep Springs. Chee was born into the Red Running Into the Water People Clan and born for the Folded Arms People Clan. Chee did carpentry work and was a ranch hand in his earlier years. He enjoyed being with his family, especially his grandchildren and watching western movies. Survivors include his sons, Bruce Yazzie of Wingate, Cody Yazzie of Lupton; daughters, Beulah Yazzie Choudhary of Lupton, Carol Chee Yazzie of Gallup, Cora Chee Trujillo of Lupton; brother, Walter Chee of Sheep Springs; sister, Rose Marie Mike of Forest Lake; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. Chee was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Smith Yazzie; parents, Joe and Marie Chee; brothers, Notah Chee, Jackson Chee, Lewis R. Watchman. Pallbearers will be Brandon Yazzie, Bruce Yazzie, Cameron Gray, Roland Yazzie, Jackson Yazzie, Buster Burton Jr. The family will receive relatives and friends at Sheep Springs Chapter House, following services.
