Harold F. Olson

Olson, Harold F. Age 77, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2012. He was born in Aurora, IL on November 17, 1934, to Percy and Dorothy Olson. He was preceded in death by his parents. Harold is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Jean Olson and family; daughter, Lee-anne Lord and husband Mort of Farmington, NM; daughter, Kim Goodrich and husband Mike of Albuquerque, NM; son, Walter "Chip" Olson and wife Dora Coville Olson of Albuquerque, NM; son, Kevin Olson of Rio Rancho, NM; son, Kerry Olson and wife Lisa of Cheyenne, WY; son, Mike Olson and his wife Judy of Santa Fe, NM; brother, Kenneth Olson and wife Nancy of Gridley, CA; brother, Alvin Olson and wife Patricia of Gridley, CA . He has eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Harold graduated from Utah State University in 1959 with a Master&s Degree in Fisheries Science and began working for the NM Department of Game and Fish as a fisheries biologist. He retired in 1988 after 30 years serving as director of the department for the last 10 years of his tenure. Harold spent seven years working for the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation after retirement. Then, he and Jean enjoyed many years of traveling ad camping. He was a member of Rio Rancho Presbyterian Church for 25 years. Service will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2012, 3:00 pm, at Rio Rancho Presbyterian Church, 1004 24th St SE, Rio Rancho.
