We bid a loving farewell to Harrietta Marian Sharp. Harrietta was born on January 27, 1918 in Toledo, Ohio to Harry and Margaret Shea. She went to be with her Lord on March 14, 2016.
Harrietta was preceded in death by her husband, Carmen Sharp; her daughter-in-law, Joyce Sharp; her brothers Ernie, Fred, and Harry Shea and her sister, Marguerite. She is survived by her sons, Larry D. Sharp (DeLane) of Lincoln, NE, Tom Sharp (Sarah) of Memphis, TN; 4 grandchildren: Amy Frey (Darrin) of Cedarville, OH, Kathy Sharp of Lincoln, NE, Erin Wayt (Bryan) of Austin TX, and Meredith Hartlage of Pittsburgh, PA; 7 great grandchildren: Michaela, Jacob and Nathan Frey, Delilah and Dulcie Hartlage, and Riley and Audrey Wayt. She was also devoted to all the dogs and cats that shared her life over the years.
On October 10, 1938, at the age of 20, Harrietta married Carmen Sharp. She first met "Carm" at a roller skating rink in Toledo. They moved to Albuquerque in 1952, where they raised a family and spent the rest of their lives together.
Harrietta and Carm's church home, where they actively served and attended for over 40 years, was Hoffmantown Baptist Church. Harrietta was a lady of abundant faith, and she shared the love of Jesus with everyone she met. On special occasions, family members would frequently receive a thoughtful and heartfelt greeting card from her -- complete with a handwritten reminder of Jesus's ultimate sacrifice. Harrietta knew who she was, whose she was, and where she was going. This contributed to the peaceful demeanor, quiet resolve, and strength of character for which she will be remembered.
While she was blessed with longevity, Harrietta was also fortunate to enjoy quality of life well into her nineties. She adopted her final beloved companion animal, a stray kitten she named Getta, at the age of 94.
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16.
A funeral service will be held on March 30, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Daniels Family Funeral Services - Wyoming Chapel, 7601 Wyoming NE. Interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE.
