Harry Angelo Magure, Jr (Ham) passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 29, 2019 in Albuquerque. He was 58.
Harry is survived by his sister, Rosemary Magure of Albuquerque, nephew Dominic K Johnson, (f) bother in law Matthew K Johnson, of Albuquerque. Aunt Marilyn Ornelas of Sand Springs, OK, cousins Jessie and Rosemary Gonzales of Kansas City, MO, cousin Delores Burnside of Kennewick, WA. Cousins Dee La Rue (Dalton) of Reno NV, Kimm Vlahos of CA, Jay Magure (Sherrill) of UT, Brian Ornelas (Tammy) of OK, Michael Ornelas (Vanessa) of TX and Para La Russa (Dean) of CA. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry A Magure Sr and Vincenta Ornelas Magure of Albuquerque.
Harry was born on March 18, 1961 in San Francisco, CA, the oldest of 2 siblings to parents Harry and Vincenta Magure. Harry graduated from Sparks H.S. in Sparks NV and UNR in Reno NV. From San Francisco, his family moved to various cities in CA before settling in Reno. From there, his parents and sister moved to Maine, but Harry stayed behind not wanting to leave behind the many close friends he had. Harry lived in Reno for 30 years before relocating to Albuquerque in 2004 to be closer to family. While in Reno he worked as a paralegal and was a member of the Pyro Pigs semi-pro football team for many years.
Harry had a strong work ethic having worked at La Z Boy Furniture Galleries for good friend Jeff Mauldin, before settling down with Mattress Firm, where he thrived and grew to be loved by so many of the Mattress Firm Family members. In addition, customers who worked with Harry grew to appreciate his honesty and kindness, some of whom he became friends with later. Harry was such a dear friend to so many people. No matter who you were he would help you at the drop of a hat. When not at work he was a die-hard member of Raider Nation from the day he was born. On game day you couldn’t miss Harry’s Raider gear. Harry also was a Harley rider and was a member of a social biker group, often riding the Sierra Nevada mountain on his days off. In fact, he even rode his Harley to from Reno to Albuquerque to visit his family.
The pride of Harry's life was his family, especially his nephew Dominic. He would brag to many about his nephew’s accomplishments and was very proud of him. He especially loved his dog, Hatchi, who often accompanied him to work. It’s probably safe to say that Hatchi helped “close” many a deal for Harry! Harry also played a role as friend to his sisters many friends, some of whom grew to love him very much (Michelle, Nancy, Janine, Marlene, Lori, Laurie, Robyn, Kristie, John “Jay”). He even had a prom date to his sister’s H.S senior prom before she did, with her dear friend Michelle!
Harry left this earth for a new home with The Father and will be missed everyday by many who loved him so much.
