Helen Anne Baker

Baker, Helen Anne Age 82, left this life on Monday, July 29, 2013at her home surrounded by her loving family with the support of Hospice. She was born in Lordsburg, NM on November 21, 1930, to William Leslie and Christina (Mactavish) Blackburn and was raised in Magdalena, NM. She was preceded in death by her Parents; her beloved husband, Wayne Baker; her brother, John Blackburn; her sister, Betty Smith; and her nephew, Alan Blackburn. Helen is survived by daughter, Jane Adams; her two granddaughters, Christina Galos and husband, Ryan Cooper and their two sons, Steven and William; Patricia Galos and husband, John Petrich and their daughter, Emilie; cousins, Cameron Mactavish and wife, Margaret and their family; Andrew Mactavish and wife, Nancy and their family; and Myra Mactavish; and many other family members that loved her and will miss her. Those who loved her will remember her generous and loving spirit. She was kind to neighbors, friends, family and anyone who needed a helping hand. She loved music, books, dancing, shopping, and more than anything else, spending time with her family. A private family viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 from 9:30 am to 10:00 am at Daniels Family Funeral Services, 309 Garfield, Socorro, NM. Graveside services will be held at the Magdalena Cemetery on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 11:30 am for family and friends. A Memorial Service may be scheduled at a later date.
