Helen W. Harper was born November 26, 1936 to Peder and Benton Winge in Nye, Montana. She passed away peacefully at the family farm in Waterflow; August 17, 2009. Helen is survived by her daughter, Tara (Alan) Walraven, son, Donnie Winge Harper, Brother, Peter and Ina Winge, grandchildren Shawn, Shea, and Sealee Walraven; and Wyatt Harper. And also by her nieces Dorla and Garland Tucker (Wendy, Misty, and Bo); Sue and Pete Rahn (Tyler and Chelsea), Cindy Harper (Kyra, Ronnie, and Stetson); Sherri and Dennis Trujillo (Brittani, Chainey, and Print); Brenda and Mike Studiner (Joseph, Jessica, and Jed); Wanda and Tiny Starkweather ((ty and Troy Wilcox); Debi and Mike Wilson (Piper and Ryland Williams); and Ronda Winge; also Her nephews, Ramie and Pam Harper, Charlie Fenlon (Kelli, Valary, Brianna), Peder Fenlon (Brandie and Christopher). Helen was preceded in death by husband, Don Harper of 53 years, parents, Peder and Benton Winge, and her sisters, Alice Barron and Phyllis Fenlon. She graduated from Absarokee High School in 1953 in Absarokee, MT and two years later, she met and married Don Harper on Oct. 16, 1955 in Absarokee. They spent their married life on the Harper family farm in Waterflow, NM. Helen was happiest watching her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews showing their animals at the county and national fairs. She loved traveling from town to town to watch her family compete in sports and rodeos. Helen also loved the many years her and Don traveled and trained racehorses. Her passion in life was "owning good horses." Pallbearers will be Shawn Walraven, Shea Walraven, Wyatt Harper, Bo Tucker, Tyler Rahn, Ronald Doyle, Stetson Herrera, Print Walker, Dustin Myers, and Dalyn Myers. Honorary pallbearers will be Ramie Harper, Gene Huntsman, Bud Nelson, Joe Collyer, LaRay Collyer, Alan Walraven, Garland Tucker, Pete Rahn, Dennis Trujillo, and Joey Nelson. A very special-"THANK YOU"-goes to Dr. Nguyen and Staff, Helen Walters, and North West New Mexico Hospice.
