Helen P. Ruiz, 68, was called home to our Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 9, 2018, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Denver, CO on December 11, 1949 to Raymond, Sr. and Angelina Vigil-Ruiz.
Helen was a vibrant and free spirit that could never be tamed. She loved and lived life to its fullest. Helen was very athletic in high school, and participated in gymnastics and swimming, and was Queen of Courts. She loved riding her motorcycle and was also a Queen of a Motorcycle club in her twenties. Helen was compellingly charismatic with innate confidence that almost seemed surreal. Everyone loved, admired, and flocked to her. She was always the Belle of the Ball as her presence commanded attention when she entered a room. She had an inherent love for music and dancing, and was also very passionate about singing. Helen attained her Emergency Medical Technician Certificate from TVI and was also a Volunteer Fire Fighter in Albuquerque.
Helen is survived by her three children: Arturo Archuleta of Denver, CO; Priscilla Mills and Husband, Mike of Norfolk, VA; and Dolores Ruiz-Chavez and Husband, Frank of Las Vegas, NM. Five Grandchildren: Carlos Archuleta; Krysta Archuleta; Tyler Mills; Jamie Andrades and Husband, Luis; and Estevan Marquez. Three Great Grandchildren: Samuel Archuleta; Julian Andrades; and Isabella DeLainna Andrades. Sisters: Angelina Ruiz Bustos-Martinez and Husband, David; Esther Ruiz-Morris and Husband, Rick; and Mary Ruiz-Herrera and Husband, Mike. Brothers: Nick Ruiz and Wife, Mary Lou, Robert Ruiz, Frank Ruiz, and Raymond Ruiz, Jr and Wife, Jonelle. She is preceded in death by her Father, Raymond Ruiz, Sr.; Mother, Angelina Vigil-Ruiz; Brother, Vincent Ruiz; and Nephew, Michael Vincent Herrera.
The word departure literally means to pull up anchor and set sail. Everything that happens prior to death is a preparation for the final voyage. Death marks the beginning, not the end. It is our journey to God. –Billy Graham
