Helen P Sanchez

Sanchez, Helen P 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 21, 2012. She was born in San Antonito , NM on August 22, 1921, to Telesfor and Malcolfa (Chavez) Padilla. Helen was a lifelong resident of the Socorro Area although she resided in California for a brief time. She was a very caring person who was always willing to lend a helping hand. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting, knitting, and cooking and baking, which she loved to share with many family and friends during the holidays. Helen could fix almost anything, from a kitchen toaster to remodeling a room, she was very skilled and often joked about how she was a jack of all trades. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Herman Sanchez Jr., four brothers, Anacor Padilla, Aaron Sirio Padilla, Bernie Padilla, and Benny Padilla, and her sister, Mary Pilar Chavez. Helen is survived by her devoted son, Richard M Sanchez and wife, Soledad; her loving daughter, Geri J Jones and husband David; five grandchildren, Jason E Jones; Jessica Jones; Amanda Jones; David Jones III; and Stephanie Cooper; ten great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; her brother, Telesfor Padilla Jr. and wife, Connie; her sister, Ruth Apodaca and husband, Joe; her devoted cousin, Rudy Lucero; and many other loving family members. A Rosary will be recited on Saturday, February 25, 2012, at 10:00 am at the San Miguel Catholic Church. Followed by a Mass of Resurrection which will be celebrated at 10:30 am with Father Andrew Pavlak as Celebrant. Interment will take place in the San Antonito Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason E Jones, Hilario Ramirez, David Ramirez, Eduardo Ramirez, Richard Sanchez and Brandon Savedra. Honorary pallbearers are Jordan Silva, Jason D. Jones, and Daniel McManus. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions or donations may be given in Helen''s honor to the Scleroderma Foundation at www.scleroderma.org. Helen''s care has been entrusted to:
