Age 97, passed away Thursday, December 3, 2015. She was born in Ottumwa, IA on October 11, 1918, to Augustus and Lula Jones.
Helen attended Roswell Community College. She was part of the PEO, Roswell Senior Center and a member of Roswell Methodist Church.
Helen's hobbies were antiques, art, and traveling the world. She loved music just as much as she loved to dance and her favorite song was "To A Wild Rose". Helen's special accomplishment was becoming an artist. As an artist, she hand carved a sign for LaVida Llena's model railroad room. Helen was also known by her family and friends as an excellent cook, voracious reader, and avid bird watcher. She leaves beautiful memories with her family and friends. Helen lived life to the fullest everyday and found beauty in everything.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, John W. Schmidt.
Helen is survived by daughter, Kathleen (Jim) Trotter; son, John D. Schmidt; five grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one great- great grandchild; and her dog Molly.
Inurnment will take place in Ottumwa, IA in the Spring of 2016.
