Sherwin, Helen Clara Helen Sherwin, 94, of Albuquerque, passed away on October 3, 2012. Helen was born in Wyoming on December 1, 1917 to Mabel and Billy Lieb. She was educated in Cody, Wyoming. After her marriage to Ted Sherwin, she worked briefly on the Manhattan Project during World War II. After the birth of her children, Susan and Bill, she and Ted moved to Albuquerque where Ted worked for Sandia Corporation until his retirement. During the 60 years that Helen lived in New Mexico, she was a long-time employee of Albuquerque Public Schools and later, the University of New Mexico. She was an active and devoted member of The Order of the Eastern Star and The Daughters of the Nile. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Albuquerque. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, Marjorie and Dorothy, and her husband, Ted. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Moore (Gary) of Little Rock, AR; son, Teddy William Sherwin (Jane) of Baytown, TX; 2 grandchildren, Ann Steen and Ellen McKinney as well as 4 great grandchildren, Will, Ginny and Drew Steen and Madeline McKinney. The family wishes to express it's appreciation to the staff of the Assisted Living Unit at Montebello, especially Becky and Julie, for their constant love and care for Helen during her last years.
