Henrietta Isabelle Renk, 91, of Farmington, passed away after a lengthy illness, on Monday, December 20, 2010. She was born May 21, 1919, in the German settlement of Ople, Kansas, to Henry and Isabelle Wecker.
Henrietta lived in Ople through her young adulthood. She moved to New Mexico and was employed by Central Consoladiated Schools as a secretary, retiring after 27 years.. She lived in Shiprock and after Charles retired, moved to Farmington.
Henrietta was very active at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, a member of Secular Franciscians, and the Legion of Mary. She enjoyed traveling, and visited France, Germany, Italy and Medjugorje with parishioners from Sacred Heart. She aslso volunterred for many years at San Juan Regional Hospital. She always said , "I try to help people, that's my main goal in life." Her pastor and longtime friend, Father Tim, said, "No truer words were ever spoken." Henrietta always said, "Learn to rely on God."
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Renk; her parents; and all 13 of her sisters and brothers.
She is survived by one son, Chuck Renk, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Daniel, Tim, Michael, Clayton, Clinton Bradshaw, and Rick Burgett.
