Henry “JJ” Jaramillo, Jr
Henry “JJ” Jaramillo, Jr., age 73, passed away at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, NM, on March 3, 2016. Henry was a resident of Albuquerque, NM, but was born and raised in Encino, NM, where he attended school in Encino.
Henry was an active parishioner at Queen of Heaven in Albuquerque. He was survived by his mother: Tomasita J. Chavez; children: Carla Jaramillo (with Vinita Pedroncelli), Henrietta Jaramillo (with Todd Stewart), Judith Jaramillo (with David Chavez), James “Jaymo” Jaramillo, (with Rachel “Grace” Gutierrez); brothers Pat Jaramillo, Felipe Jaramillo (Toni), sisters Viola Larrañaga (Leo), Catherine Chavez (Justo), Cecilia Garcia (Gabriel), Rebecca Denison (Ray Ky), Charlotte Padilla (Herman); sisters-in-law; Rita Jaramillo and Barbara Jaramillo, grandchildren: Joshua, Dominic, Ethan, Nevaeh, Evinn and Jayden; godchildren: Andy Larrañaga, Leo Chavez, Bruce Jaramillo, Rose Marie Hijar; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Enrique Jaramillo; son Jeremy Jaramillo; sister Ida Jaramillo; brothers Juan and Jerry Jaramillo; sister-in-law Linda Jaramillo.
Henry loved spending time with his grandchildren and his grandchildren loved spending time with him because his only rule was “No spanking at Popo’s!”
He was self-employed concrete contractor for over 40 years. He loved his job and wanted to work forever.
In his later years he traded his love of hunting and 4-wheeling for a love of fast cars. He was the man you wanted to see for a good story or a laugh.
He will be greatly missed by many.
The Rosary will be Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 7 pm at Queen of Heaven Parish in Albuquerque located at 5311 Phoenix Avenue NE.
Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Encino, NM at 10 am, Thursday, March 10, 2016 with the burial to follow at the Encino Cemetery.
