Lambert, Hugh K. Age 85, passed away at his home in Rio Rancho, Tuesday, February 5, 2013. He was an artist while proudly serving in the U.S. Coast Guard. Originally from St. Louis, MO, he moved to Chicago, IL. As his passion had always been art in any form, he became a successful Art Director. A man of varied interests and talents which included: painting; photography; researching for a book and co-author of "Ghost Towns of the Black Hills and Others"; all things Japanese; fountain pens; family. He settled in Rio Rancho, NM in 1979. Hugh was an active member in the Mormon Church; Chicago Artists Guild; Westerners Club; Young Republicans; the Sea Scouts, among others. His talents were honored and awarded many times. It is impossible to summarize such a rich and varied life. He touched many with his humor, wisdom, fairness, and caring nature. Hugh is survived by his wife, Margene; daughter, Melanie Salvesen and husband Donald; stepson, Mark Ahlstrom; grandchildren: Halia, Hunter, and Sarah; great-granddaughter, Fenix. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 11:00 am, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2807 Cabezon Blvd SE, Rio Rancho, NM.
