Ila Knauss

Knauss- Ila Knauss passed away peacefully on August 21, 2009. Ila was born Ila Pearl Coomer on May 27, 1932 in Red Oak, Iowa to Reverend Archie H. Coomer and Pearl Coomer who was a pastor at a Baptist Church there. Ila married Glen Knauss in Cabool, Missouri and moved to Kansas City where she worked as a bank teller, Glen attended college, and they had their only child, David. The family moved to Albuquerque in 1958 where Glen went to work for Sandia National Laboratories and Ila raised David and worked in the church. Ila was a Sunday school teacher, a Girls Auxiliaries leader and choir member. She served as a caregiver to an elderly lady for 10 years. Ila was preceded in death by her loving husband of almost 50 years, Glen. She is remembered fondly by her son David, the congregation at Berean Baptist Church and friends who loved her.
