Irene McDaniel Carl passed away December 4, 2015 at the age of 93 in Albuquerque, NM.
Private services will be held at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM.
Irene was born on January 2, 1922 in Gillham, Sevier County, Arkansas to Arthur M. and Nancye F. (Johnston) McDaniel. Irene was married to David Louis Carl January 11, 1942 in Arkansas. Irene and D. L. moved to Roswell, NM. She earned a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education in 1962 from ENMU. While teaching for the Roswell School System, she earned a Masters of Education in Reading in 1967 from ENMU and a Masters of Gifted Education in 1975 from UNM. She taught for the Roswell Schools for nineteen years.
Irene was predeceased by her parents Arthur M. and Nancye Frances McDaniel, and her five brothers: Austin, Arthur Jr., Dale, Edward, Orville, and her husband D. L. Carl. Irene leaves behind her four children: Gary Carl, Paula Miller and her husband David, Roger Carl and his wife Paula, and Rada Carl and her husband Allen. Irene was blessed with eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
