Age 84, passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2014. She was born June 22, 1930 in California, MO to Emil and Virginia Wells.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Ricky Williams. Irene is survived by her children, Connie Shingleton and husband Robert, Gary Williams and wife Alicia, Cindy Smith and husband Jon Paul; three grandchildren, David Ortiz and wife Fabiola, Jimmy Williams, Kyra Dinwiddie; four great-grandchildren, Valentina Ortiz, James Williams, Alexander Ortiz, Sonda Williams; brother, Marvin Wells and wife Billie.
Irene was a resident of Albuquerque, NM for 25 years before moving to Rio Rancho, NM where she resided for the last 25 years. She retired from UNM in 2007 after working for 39 years. Irene enjoyed gardening, arts and crafts, traveling and time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Sara Chapel, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM.
